About Alison

As a retired city planner, long-time community activist and mother of two children who went to our public schools, I felt I had a unique and valuable perspective to offer our community.

Over the past four years our city and nation have faced extraordinary challenges, including the Covid-19 pandemic, climate crises and mass shootings. However, we have led and seen many efforts to step up against these challenges.

Our City Council stepped up against the pandemic by enacting an eviction moratorium, running vaccine and testing centers as well as providing rent relief and financial assistance.

We have seen the Black Lives Matter and Stop Asian Hate movements rise up to push back against racial violence. Our Council created it's first Race Equity and Inclusion Subcommittee and Public Safety Advisory Board to further empower these movements. We enacted gun control legislation and accelerated our carbon neutrality goals.

We turned our historic city center into a pedestrian-oriented public space, added biodiversity planning to our strategic goals, and expanded our public arts programing. And just as importantly, we approved our first universally accessible playground for every child to be able to enjoy.

Clearly there is more to be done and I am eager to tackle the most difficult challenges before us. I am certain that my experience and accomplishments on Council will enable me to be an effective leader for all of our communitites.
